Renowned press photographer RPM, native of Long Island, New York, has been fascinated with the photographic image since the age of 6, when he began capturing the local wildlife with his Brownie camera. After serving in the US Air Force, RPM gravitated to the nascent New York City disco movement of the early 1960s. Together with some friends, he started up a NYC-based magazine, DISCO TECKEN, which chronicled the disco scene in all its glitz and dubious glory. Affiliated with AP, UPI and other international wire services, his photos have appeared in every New York City newspaper and nearly every major magazine in the world, including on the cover of LIFE.
